My goal as a counselor is to meet you right where you are in life’s journey

Safe place without judgement

I strive to create a safe place where you are accepted unconditionally; a place where you don’t have to fear being open about your present struggles, your past hurts or fears of the future.

We all can use a little help at times

Everyone experiences difficulty in their life, even the strongest of us can feel lost, unsure, ambivalent or unhappy at times. There is always hope.

Trusting partner

Trust is essential in a relationship.  I will work to gain your trust as we build a relationship and partner on your journey together. I will take time to understand you and the reason you chose to seek help.  We will explore your needs and develop goals for our time together.

Help that is specific to your needs

Based on your goals I will provide insight and assist you in learning or refining life skills utilizing evidenced based counseling methodology. I will help you manage whatever life throws at you and how to do it successfully.

I believe you have the strength not only to survive but to thrive.

Our time together will be about you and for you.

 About Me

I have personally experienced the benefits of mental health therapy as I journeyed through my own personal struggles and difficult circumstances.  In therapy I began to understand where my emotional wounds originated and how they continued to impact my life. I was empowered through emotional healing and learning new ways to make positive changes in my life.  It is through my brokenness and healing that I developed a sincere desire to help others become empowered to make changes in their emotional and mental health to help them live the life that they desire.

My Christian faith is important to me. Professionally, I respect and value all individuals and work diligently to understand each person that walks through my door. Non-Christian and non-religious clients will feel accepted and safe when working with me. It is my goal to see my clients live balanced and healthy lives.

I am married and have 3 children.  I love spending time with my family, having "me" time at the gym, traveling and reading for continued learning.

Counseling Methodology
As human beings we all have a story/past that tends to impact and play out in our present experiences.  These repeated patterns are due to not learning how important emotions are and not being taught coping skills to effectively manage our emotions; emotions are essential to our overall wellbeing. When our emotions are bigger than our capacity to manage them, our bodies perceive the experience as trauma which keeps us stuck in  maladaptive patterns. We need to understand our inner experience and to embrace and to effectively experience emotions to become the best version of ourselves. I will take the time to help you understand your inner experience from a neurobiological perspective and how it impacts our daily life, learn new coping skills and where appropriate work to resolve the underlying issues that keep you from thriving.
